Graphic Designer here running Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Fonts, Chrome (~20 tabs typically including G-Suite programs), Notes, TextEdit, Preview, Calendar and VNC simultaneously for 12 hours on Monday’s to lay out a 32-page weekly newspaper on 16GB 2015 MBP. DocCleaner says I’m usually at ~80% RAM capacity. Intrigued by your article, but even if M1 can handle it all with 8GB, for $200 upgrade it seems more foolish not to spend it. I’d rather have a house with more square footage for the occasional surprise guests so they won’t have to sleep in the kitchen.
