In 1985 we took a family vacation to Europe. My parents had one room and my 14-year-old sister and 8-year-old brother and I shared another (I was 12). On the last morning in London my sister put EVERYTHING from the mini bar in her bag, including the liquor. What fun we had with that stash!! Dad paid cash and the room wasn’t checked before we left so we got away with it. She tried her trick again in Paris. Two months after we got home a bill arrived from France for the equivalent of US$95 for soda, liquor and snacks. I decided then-and-there that i would never own a hotel and I still wonder if Dad actually paid it.
