I’ve been to India many times since 2001. Keep in mind the people in India don’t use cars the way Americans do. They are continuing to build, but there’s no super efficient interstate highway system. For long distances, the majority use the incredible railways. Also, until recently (the last decade) most people worked relatively near to where they lived. Nearly all the businesses one would need on s daily basis were within a ten minute walk, or there’s a dozen tuk-tuk’s (3 wheel taxis) ready at a moment’s notice to get you across town. Personal commuting wasn’t really a thing, nor were there places for hundreds of thousands of new vehicles to park! The Nano, from its conception, was a strange project with no real market, made worse through bad ads.
