My best photography advice: don’t just shoot, think about what you want to say with your images. What feelings do you want to convey? WHY is it important to capture that grey squirrel? What makes your grey squirrel pic so special to the eventual audience? My mother subjected me to 400 pics of Ireland and it could have been Cincinnati what with her lack of composition, attitude, verve. Don’t put people through that. A photo is a conversation. Don’t blather, don’t dither. Communicate!!! (And yes, learn the effects of controlling the shutter speed, ISO and aperture and your 90% there).
