Thank you, reante. I appreciate your considered response. If 'fools' seems too inflammatory, perhaps I can substitute my opinion of their rhetoric as 'ignorant' instead? And arrogance is ignorance matured...

I'm not clear how the mono vs. multi-cultural concept, BLM or issues of elitism come into play here when ALL of our collective lungs and blood are susceptible to infection. It's not like when I wore a mask in India to protect myself from pollution — it's like our visit to Japan where the hospitable and sensitive people wore masks to protect ME from their colds.

Not wearing a mask is selfish and puts others at risk. Advising others to be selfish is selfish-on-selfish — and dangerous — and I'm compelled to call it out.
