When I owned a coffee shop I asked candidates important questions about time management, aspirations, blah blah blah, but sprinkled it with “dogs or cats?” and “what would you do today if I gave you $10K right now?” and “if you could be anyone else in history for a week, who and why? And which week?”

I honestly didn’t care about the answers, I only wanted to know if they were friendly, competent, thinking conversationalists. I can teach someone to make a latte. I can’t teach them how to have an attractive personality.
